Last year I was photographing a winter wedding (big surprise I know) in Seattle, Washington. Later in the evening, once the celebrations had started, I noticed an adorable couple, both with contagious smiles, on the dance floor. After I had shot a few photos of them together I struck up a conversation noticing that they were freshly engaged. I could of guessed without being told because of how giddy the were! This couple was Drew and Kayla. I congratulated them and asked if they had a date picked, which they did. The location was in Leavenworth which is an area I love! I decided to extend an offer that went something like "Hey I know you're from Seattle and probably have a photographer in mind already but if you like these photos from The Klein's wedding I'd love to be considered!" A couple of days passed when I sent some photos their way... a couple weeks later they booked me! I was surprised in one hand how seamlessly the connection happened but since we clicked right away, they loved my style and felt comfortable in front of my camera, it just all worked out! Here's freshly engaged Drew & Kayla below.
Needless to say I was pretty ecstatic at this point. A Leavenworth wedding in the winter and a gorgeous couple that knows how to have a good time?! Yes please!
Their wedding day could not have gone smoother. Fresh snow the days before and perfect dry weather. Their friends & family are such a solid group of people. They shared many entertaining stories throughout the day which revealed the many strong relationships that all came from near and far to witness & celebrate their marriage. From beer pong shenanigans in the morning to trudging through knee-high snow for portraits, gorgeous a outdoor ceremony to the heartfelt speeches finished by epic dancing through out the night.
There were so many highlights that it's hard to mention them all. Kayla and her mom had one of the most elegant dances together I've witnessed. I'd have to say that I was surprised by Drew's never ending dance moves too. He is the first groom I've ever had that once on the dance floor he never left. Pretty sure friends just kept bringing him dancing juice to keep him going! Check out their wedding day below.
